Forum on Monascus Spp and Their Relative Products held in Wuhan

On May 28th, "The Forum on Monascus Spp and Their Relative Products in 2018" was held in Wuhan. It was sponsored by Prof. Chen Fusheng from the Food Biotechnology and Safety Team of our university. The conference hosted by HZAU was co-organized by the Czech Technical University in Prague, the Yangtze University and the Hubei University of Technology. The key laboratory of the Ministry of Environmental Food Science and Education and the co-innovation center for Industrial Fermentation of Hubei University of Technology jointly sponsored the project. More than 60 representatives from over 10 universities and numerous businesses attended the conference.
During the meeting, Prof.Li Bin, dean of the School of Food Science and Technology introduced the basic situation of the school and the college, welcomed the arrival of the delegates, and invited delegates to participate in the 120th anniversary celebration of HZAU. Karel Melzoch, President of the Czech Technical University in Prague, made an opening speech. Subsequently, the participants made 19 reports on the topics such as  " Biosynthesis Pathway of Monascus Polyketones", "Regulation of Monascus metabolites" and "Monascus Industrial Development" and so on.
It is reported that this conference is the academic forum for the research related to Monascus spp organized by our university after the 2016 International Symposium on Monascus and Its Related Products.
