As the 120th anniversary of HZAU is around the corner, delegations from two foreign universities, Harper Adams University and University of Bakhta Arruda, were at the invitation of HZAU to discuss the issues concerning cooperation in order to promote international exchanges and advance the Double First-Class construction. A signing ceremony followed.

On Mar. 19, Prof. Zhang Xianlong, Vice President of HZAU, met with the three-member delegation led by Dr. David Llewellyn, Vice-Chancellor of Harper Adams University. The two sides exchanged their views on the progress of the joint programme and spoke highly of the fruits in the cooperation. Prof. Zhang said, as the joint programme was renewed in last May, HZAU shall spare no efforts to accomplish the tasks in the contract, which would provide a good example of international cooperation between universities. In response to various problems in the joint programme, HZAU will on the one hand provide policy support to encourage students to study in Britain. On the other hand, more majors shall be included in the programme. HZAU will select students majored in Food Science & Technology and Engineering to study in Harper Adams University. Then Dr. David Llewellyn believed that the partnership between HZAU and Harper Adams University is of great importance. It is hoped that the two universities could continue to work hard to boost the cooperation in the broader field and at higher level. Meanwhile, the two sides should overcome the obstacles encountered in the programme together so as to promote high-quality education and mutually beneficial cooperation. Dr. David Llewellyn delightedly accepted the invitation to the 120th anniversary ceremony of HZAU.

On the same day, a five-member delegation headed by President Gadalla Abdalla from the University of Bakhta Arruda, visited our university. Prof. Zhang received the delegation and made an introduction about HZAU and its status in quo of international exchanges. They also held discussion on exchanges and cooperation between two universities. After expressing his sincere thanks for the warm reception, President Gadalla hoped HZAU could provide more support in their graduate & doctoral education and scientific research. After the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed. In addition, the delegation visited College of Food Sciences & Technology, College of Animal Sciences & Technology / College of Veterinary Medicine, National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement, and Key Laboratory of Horticultural Plant Biology, Ministry of Education.

The two foreign chancellors signed on the message board and expressed their best wishes for the upcoming 120th anniversary of HZAU.
