Australian National University Delegation Visit HZAU


On September 13th, National University Delegation, led by Professor Kiaran Krik, the Minister of Faculty of Science, with 6 members from its Biological Sciences College and Chemistry College, visits HZAU.


Vice President Zhang Xianlong meets with guests at the International Academic Exchange Center. The heads from following departments and colleges attend the meeting: the school office, the dean's office, the Graduate school, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement, the College of Plant Science and Technology, the College of Animal Science and Technology, the College of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Life Science and Technology, the College of Horticulture& Forestry Sciences and the College of Science.


The meeting is chaired by Professor Hu Chengxiao.


First of all, Professor Zhang welcomes all the delegates, and briefly introduces school history, faculty strength, international exchanges condition, and some achievements in talent training, scientific research and so on in recent years


Then, Prof. Xiong Lizhong introduces some basic information and main research fields of the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement.


Prof. Kiaran Krik extends his thanks to our hospitality and speak highly of the substantial achievements made by HZAU.


He briefs the basic information, disciplines and outstanding alumni of ANU.


He hopes that the two schools would cooperate in students training and scientific research.


The two sides discuss in detail about the specific cooperation fields and reach consensus on many aspects.


Both sides agree to sign a joint cooperation agreement as soon as possible.


ANU was founded in 1946, which is the member of International Alliance of Research Universities(IARU), Group of Eight (G8), and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU).


The school alumni include 6 Nobel laureates and 2 Australian prime ministers.


It is ranked 20th in QS World University Rankings, and top 1 in Australia.
