Gao Chi and His Delegation Visit American Colleges and Universities

At the beginning of spring, Gao Chi, Party Secretary of HZAU and his delegation were invited to visit Clemson University and the University of Georgia (UGA) in the US, and warmly welcomed. Both sides reviewed the progress of the bilateral cooperation programs, and they also had an in-depth discussion about how to efficiently further cooperation in student and faculty exchange and scientific research. During this visit, Gao Chi and his delegation met with some well-known scholars from Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and Emory University. They also visited alumni who work or study in Georgia to show the good wishes of HZAU for them and additionally, encouraged these students to study hard and come back to motherland earlier.

Signing Cooperation Agreements of the Three Universities (Clemson University, Ain Shams University and HZAU)

Joining in World Stage Design (WSD) of Clemson University

In Clemson University, Gao Chi, on behalf of the HZAU,  signed cooperation agreements with Clemson University and Ain Shams University (Egypt),establishing a tripartite partnership. Based on the previous jointly-held WSD program phase I to III, three sides had fruitful discussions about how to better run this cooperation platform in the future, and provide the students from these three countries with cross-regional, cross-cultural, interdisciplinary study exchange and practice opportunities. During this visit, Gao Chi also met with Prof. Robert Jones, Vice President of Clemson University, Prof. Keith L. Belli, dean of Clemson’s College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences(CAFLS), Prof. Richard Goodstein, dean of Clemson’s College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities, and heads of some departments, including Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Human Resources. They detailedly discussed about their cooperation on talent cultivation and scientific research, and they also attended the teaching and scientific research activities of “WSD global design workshop”, including works exhibition and exchanges.

Visiting UGA

In UGA, Gao Chi was warmly received by Prof. Libby V. Morris, the senior vice president. They happily reviewed the cooperation between these two universities over the years, especially gratifying achievements gained in the fields of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. Discussing about deepening existing cooperation and enrolling more disciplines, the two sides reached an agreement on further promoting bilateral in-depth cooperation. Later, Gao Chi and his delegation visited the renowned animal hospital of UGA, accompanied by members of Clemson’s College of Resource and Environment, College of Animal Science & Technology & Veterinary Medicine, the Personnel Department and Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

It’s known that Clemson University was founded in 1889, in Clemson, South Carolina, United States. Recently, it is ranked 24th in the “Best National Public University in the United States” by U.S.News & World Report. Many disciplines of this university are among the best in the US, such as Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Environment and Environmental Health Engineering, Biomedical and Bioengineering.

Chartered by the state of Georgia in 1785, in Athens, the University of Georgia is the birthplace of public higher education in America. It ranks 13th in the “Best National Public University in the United States” by U.S.News & World Report. Veterinary Medicine and Agricultural Science of this university enjoys a high reputation worldwide.
