On September 17th, the 2nd Sino-Australian Environmental Biogeochemical Forum was held at HZAU attracting over 60 experts, scholars and postgraduates engaged in soil science, microbiology and environmental sciences from many universities and institutes including Australian Griffith University, Newcastle University, and Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research Chinese Academy of Sciences. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Huang Qiaoyun, dean of the college of Resources and Environment, HZAU.

Vice president Ching Ping attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech to all the experts from afar. He said: “this year is the 120th anniversary of the founding of our university and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of College of Resources and Environment. And our university and colleges have organized plenty of academic conferences providing teachers and students with a platform for communication and discussion, in the hope of kindling their sparks of thought in the academic exchanges.” Affected by typhoon, Li Fangbai, director of the Guangdong Institute of Eco-environment Science & Technology, who was unable to attend the meeting, congratulated HZAU on its 120th anniversary and the college on its 70th birthday by a remote video.
