Leaders of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (Hannan) Visiting HZAU to Discuss Cooperation

On the morning of November 9, Li Caiyun, Deputy Director of Administrative Committee of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Deputy District Head of Hannan, together with Lin Wei, Chairman of Wuhan Economic and Agricultural Development and Investment Co., Ltd., came to our university to discuss school-district cooperation. Heads of HZAU concerned attended the negotiation including Yao Jianglin, Vice President of HZAU, Guan Huanda, Executive Vice President of Institute of Science and Technology Development, and Liu Xin, Executive Dean of HZAU Urban & Rural Planning and Design Institute .
At the meeting, Guan Huanda introduced HZAU’s scientific research and public services in detail. Li Caiyun and Lin Wei spoke highly of HZAU’s achievements in the above aspects and introduced the recent developments of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (Hannan). They hoped to promote school-district cooperation to make 157 km2 agricultural areas of Hannan a high-tech agricultural centre. They claimed that at present, solid industrial foundation and strength could help Hannan to be the first district where  industry could nurture agriculture. They hoped to have further cooperation with HZAU in the following fields: transformation and transfer of research achievements, cooperation in agricultural innovation and targeted poverty alleviation, promotion in investment and talent training. They also proposed six specific targets of cooperation including aquaculture, modern seed industry, green vegetables, sweet corn, landscape architecture and leisure tourism. Yao Jianglin responded positively to the intention of the cooperation between Hannan and HZAU. He said that the cooperation is a concrete move to follow the gist of the 19th CPC National Congress and hoped both sides will give full play to their own advantages and jointly build an innovative system combining industry, university and research sectors, and promote in-depth and in-width cooperation in various fields.
