HZAU Advances Preparations for 8th Asian Pig Veterinary Society Congress

On the afternoon of April 28th,a meeting was held in the administration building of HZAU to prepare for the 8th Asian Pig Veterinary Society (APVS) Congress.Vice president Zhang Xianlong and heads of such departments, as the President’s Office, the State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology, the Cooperative Innovation Center for Sustainable Pig Products, attended the meeting, which was hosted by deputy director Fu Jun from the President’s Office.

Deputy dean Li Yulin from the College of Animal Sciences&Technology and College of Veterinary Medicine reported the preparations on behalf of the organizing committee and put forward corresponding needs according to the preparation progress and arrangements, hoping for supports in aspects of organization&coordination, guest invitation,international cooperation, culture promotion, finance,auditing,security, transportation and medical care from relevant departments. Later, the meeting members expressed their supports for theconveningand proposed specific methods for relocating resources to ensure the meeting a success.

At last,vice president Zhang Xianlong gave closing remarks. He pointed out that the 8thCongress of APVS was a great opportunity todemonstrate discipline strengthsand overall views of HZAU. Every department needs to deepen understanding, strengthen cooperation, ensure the security of the Congress, and appropriately spend its funds to enhance the quality and level of the Congress and give full play to the role of the Congress in promoting international cooperation and academic exchanges.

It is reported that8th Asian Pig Veterinary Society Congress would be held from May 13thto 15thin Wuhan, Hubei Province. There will be 1,500 experts and delegates fromcountriessuch asthe United States, Australia, Belgium, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, China and others.
