From May 12 to 14, 2022, the HZAU delegation led by Vice President Yao Jianglin visited Guangxi to promote cooperation. They were received by the officials and leaders from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (DARA) of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Nanning Municipal Government and local enterprises.
On the afternoon of May 12, Prof. Yao Jianglin visited the DARA of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Nanning Municipal Government, exchanging with relevant officials on intensifying cooperation. After looking back the previous cooperation, the two sides reached an agreement on further deepening the partnership between HZAU and the Nanning Rural Revitalization Bureau.
On May 13, Prof. Yao and the delegation visited Yangxiang Co., Ltd. to discuss and exchange ideas with chairman of the company, Shi Liang. The meeting was presided over by COO of Yingzi Technology, Li Yulin. Assistant President and Director of Human Resources of Yingzi, Li Yaohua, presented the cooperation agenda from three aspects: the measures for operation and management of Yingzi Technology - HZAU Health Food Industry Research Institute; the first projects and their results of assessment; the scheduled work plan of the Institute. The two sides discussed and exchanged ideas on the construction of the Institute and its related research topics.
Shi Liang extended a warm welcome to Prof. Yao and the delegation, and said that Yangxiang, as an enterprise committed to the development of technology-based pig breeding, attaches great importance to enhancing the driving force in a technology innovation-based way throughout its development. With the support of technologies and talents from HZAU over years, the company has made great strides in its businesses. In 2021, HZAU and the company jointly established Yingzi Technology - HZAU Health Food Industry Research Institute to further deepen cooperation, which Yangxiang highly values and vigorously supports. It is believed the S&T lead and innovation drive generated by the Institute will push forward Yangxiang towards a brighter future.
Prof. Yao highly recognized the progress made since the establishment of the Institute. He said that setting up the institute is an inevitable trend in the decade-long cooperation between HZAU and Yangxiang. Focusing on the “key points”, “difficult points” and “pain points” in the development of enterprises, efforts will be made to carefully design research topics and resolve research difficulties, provide steady support to help enterprises tackle technical bottlenecks in their development, and strive to achieve a number of original research fruits with high application value, so as to effectively increase the market competitiveness of enterprises. Besides, it is necessary to further make institutional and procedural innovations, fully motivate the university, enterprise and researchers of the Institute through policy incentives, and continuously promote the common interest of HZAU and Yangxiang to create a model for university-enterprise cooperation, jointly contributing to the progress of the industry and economic and social development.
After the meeting, Prof. Yao also greeted the researchers and alumni who were dispatched to Yangxiang.
During their stay in Guangxi, the delegation also visited the Guigang Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and exchanged on the upgrading of agricultural sector, on the talents training concerning “Agriculture, Rural areas and Farmers”, and on developing local distinctive industries such as alternately raising rice and crawfish in the paddy field, planting lotus root and producing Traditional Chinese Medicinal materials.
The heads of the Academy of Science and Technology Development and the College of Education and Training of HZAU participated in the above activities.
