HZAU Hits First Prize in 12th NREPCCS

Recently, the final of the 12th National Real Estate Planning Competition for College Students (NREPCCS) was held at Huazhong Normal University. The team “Butong Fanxiang (Exceptional)” from HZAU hit the first prize with its work “Shimao·Wanrong” among 10,000 college students from 144 universities.

The team consists of Huang Qinghua, Cai Yujie and another two students from the School of Public Administration, and Lu Min, students from the College of Horticulture and Forestry Sciences, with Pro. Yang Gangqiao and another four teachers from the School of Public Administration as Project instructor. Through an in-depth investigation of the Shimao’s plots in Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, with its green development concept of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”, the team applied technical methods such as web crawlers, heat map analysis, VR house simulation and Monte Carlo risk analysis and in this way they completed their five-in-one planning work of “integration of value, industry, ecology, culture and function”. Also, it was supported by Hu Xiaofang, Guo Zhaoxia and other contributors from the School of Public Administration during the preparation for the competition.

The competition provides participants with the opportunities to link their knowledge with real cases and operate real projects through the cooperation among universities, companies and real estate agencies. Thus, it not only hones the students’ ability to combine theory and practice, but gives the participants a deeper understanding of the Chinese real estate market.
After five months of national screening since the announcement of the competition in May 2020, the competition attracted over 10,000 college students from 144 universities, leaving 174 teams from 119 universities advancing to the national final. After online reporting, defence and evaluation by experts from universities and enterprises, 2 grand prizes, 10 first prizes, 41 second prizes and 79 third prizes were awarded.
