College of Plant Sciences & Technology
Set up in 2002 and originated from the Department of Farming of Hubei Farming School founded in 1898, the college now has 3 departments: Agronomy, Plant Protection, Plant Sciences & Technology), and offers 3 national key disciplines: crop science, crop genetics & breeding, and crop production & cultivation; 12 doctoral specialties, 13 master’s specialties, 3 undergraduate specialties. The college employs 121 full-time faculty members including 45 professors and 48 associate professors.
College of Animal Sciences & Technology / College of Veterinary Medicine
Set up in 2002 and originated from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary of Hubei Provincial Agricultural College of 1950, the college now has 6 departments: Animal Sciences & Technology, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Animal Nutrition & Feed Sciences, Basic Veterinary Medicine, Preventive Veterinary Medicine, and Clinical Veterinary Medicine, and offers 1 national key discipline: animal genetics, breeding & reproduction; 7 doctoral specialties, 7 master's specialties, 3 undergraduate specialties. The college employs 121 full-time faculty members including 35 professors and 50 associate professors.
College of Resources & Environment
Set up in 2002 and originated from the Department of Agricultural Chemistry of Wuhan University of 1948, the college now has 3 departments: Soil Sciences & Plant Nutrition, Environmental Sciences & Engineering, Resources & Environmental Information, and offers 3 doctoral specialties, 6 master's specialties, and 4 undergraduate specialties. The College employs 67 full-time faculty members including 20 professors and 24 associate professors.
College of Life Sciences & Technology
Set up in 1994 and originated from the Biotechnology Center of Huazhong Agricultural University of 1987, the college now has 3 departments: Biosciences, Biotechnology and Bioengineering, and offers 2 national key disciplines: microbiology, and biochemistry & molecular biology; 13 doctoral specialties, 14 master's specialties, 3 undergraduate majors. Set up in 2002 and originated from the Department of Sericulture of Hubei Farming School of 1898, the college now has 5 departments: Pomology, Vegetable Science, Forestry & Tea Science, Gardening and Landscape Architecture, and offers 1 national key discipline: Pomology, 6 doctoral specialties, 7 master's specialties, 6 undergraduate specialties.
